Austin, Texas is known for being the live music capital of the nation, while that statement may be debatable, something that many people can easily agree on is the fact that despite Texas’ ill-politics and bad reputation, they do have some pretty amazing bands.

One of these bands is the Carrots– indie music’s newest pop revival phenomenon. Comprising of members from bands such as Finally Punk and Yellow Fever, the Austin-based sextet (4 girls, 2 boys) take you through a magical trip back in time to 60s girl groups, feel good songs, and matching outfits. Formed in 2005 via a myspace bulletin, the Carrots are a band that you absolutely have to experience live.
Luckily, they will be coming to Phoenix on Sunday, May 11th at the Trunk Space along with fellow Texan indie rock group Silver Pines. Supported by folk-pop locals Uggamugga, solo songwriter Bri White, and new blood Somersault, this show is a guaranteed must-see. If you like girls in bands, pop music, and a good time then the decision to come to this show should be quite easy. However, as a bonus, bring you mom and get her in for free! After all, it’ll be Mother’s Day.
Lastly, please try to make it on time. The show will be starting at 7:oopm.
Below is a beautiful poster created by Brooklyn, NY’s Maggie Muldoon. Bri White isn’t on it and the address to the Trunk Space is 1506 N. Grand Ave. but everything else on there is good. Give her positive comments!
